Area Service Committee Minutes
July 8, 2018
 
1.      The Twelve Traditions were read by Towana N.
2.      The Twelve Concepts were read by Bobby R.
3.      The definition of an Area Service Committee was read by Towana N.
4.      New GSR’s:  Adam R. representing I Love Lucy, Channa L. representing All in the Family, John S. representing Get it Right, and Brittain P. is the Co-GSR for It Works.
5.      There were 11 GSR’s in attendance and quorum was met.
6.      There were 17 reporting groups this month.  The following groups reported:  Spiritual Journey-needs trusted servants and support, Recovery Zone-will have its group picnic on August 17, 2018 at Butcher Park on Mound Road between Mound and Ryan, also is requesting support due to low attendance, Lost Dreams Awaken-requests support due to low attendance, Let’s Get Better Together-requests support due to low attendance, Coffee Shop Recovery-requests a GSR.
7.      Treasurer’s Report:  General Fund Balance (GFB):  $1292.50    Last Months Balance:  $638.00    7th Tradition:  $22.00    Group Donations:  $632.50
8.      RCM:  Requests more members get involved in the Helpline at the Regional level MDRCNA needs support from members.
9.      MSO Report:  Marty K. reported Office Manager is to be changed at the MSO in the coming weeks. MSO needs the following:  To have its books balanced, to have office workers to treat customers politely and maintain a pleasant demeanor, to train the office managers in the day to day business affairs of the MSO so that they can perform their duties efficiently.  See attached report.
10.  Activities:  Renee B.  Area picnic is schedule for August 12, 2018 at Metro Beach 12:00 pm-6:00 pm.  Please come early and help with set-up has been requested.
11.  Open Positions:  Helpline
12.  H&I:  all coordinators attended monthly meeting.  Needs invoices for literature, Basic Texts are housed at the MSO.  Please see attached report for complete report.  Need female volunteers.
13.   Literature Report:  Jonathan P. absent this month.
14.  Newsletter:  Needs content poems, Dear Addie questions, clean date anniversaries, art.  Please forward your submissions to Macombmiracles@yahoo.com
15.  Outreach:  Scott R. needs support.
16.  Public Relations:  Frankee B. participated in Run Drugs out of Town.  In need of literature.  See attached motion.
17.  Web Servant:  Updates posted to the website, will be adding meetings that require support.
18.  Convention:  Next fundraiser is the Road Rally.  Please see attached report for the date of the fundraiser.  Tax Identification pending.  MACNA Convention November 9-11, 2018 at the Wyndham Gardens Hotel, Sterling Heights.
19.  Policy:  No policy needs currently.  Requested minutes for May and June.
20.  Treasurer’s Report:  GFB:  $1122.50    Expenses:  $170.00    Regional Donation:  $297.50   
21.  Old Business:  None Currently
22.  New Business:  Moved the ASC meeting.  The ASC meeting will be held at Metro Beach on August 12, 2018 at 10:00 am.  Per Motion 07082018-02 (passed) to move meeting.   Motion will be forwarded to groups for voting back to groups for voting on moving meeting to Metro Beach.  PR motion 07082018-01 passed to provide Frankee B. with $50.00 for supplies.
23.  We Get Better Group moved to River Bends Park Pavilion.  Located at 22 Mile and Shelby Road.
