DEASCNA – Detroit East Area Service Committee of Narcotics Anonymous
This is the ‘parent’ committee for all our services. Composed of representatives from NA groups within the geographic boundaries of the Detroit East Area. This committee collects voluntary donations from NA groups, dispenses funds for projects and services, provides a central point for public contact, provides a means of communication between local NA groups, and reports monthly to the local fellowship.

DEASCNA Sub-Committees
This subcommittee is responsible for holding activities (dances, parties, picnics, events, etc.) that are attractive to the newcomer. The primary purpose of this committee is to reach the still suffering addict and help promote N.A. unity. The secondary purpose of this subcommittee is to raise funds for the Detroit East area needs.
Meets every 4th Thursday of the month @ 8:30pm, 4777 E. Outer Dr. 1st floor, Detroit MI
This subcommittee acts as a resource to groups when specific needs are necessary. They may maintain a list of members with the willingness and special skills or resources (such as language interpretation, sign interpretation) or transportation for the physically or visually impaired addict seeking recovery. This subcommittee is a resource to members and groups in their efforts to distribute supplies, information and literature necessary to carry the N.A. message of recovery. This subcommittee attempts to make N.A. available to any addict seeking recovery within treatment and correctional facilities.
Meets every 1st Saturday, every other month @ 1:00pm, 4777 E. Outer Dr. 1st floor, Detroit MI
This subcommittee deals with our primary purpose as it is achieved through writing. It does a limited amount of writing as provided by the WSC handbook. This subcommittee seeks written input from its members at large by encouraging the development of new literature by holding workshops to complete proposed material.

This subcommittee is essential to the growth of N.A. in the area and needs assistance from many members to achieve their objectives. This subcommittee serves as a liaison between N.A. and society as a whole. This subcommittee compiles an Area Meeting list three times per year (or as needed). It provides and carries the N.A. message to those who may not have heard of us or misinterpreted us, informing them of what we do and where we are available. Meets every Wednesday before the Detroit East Area Service meeting @ 11:00am, 4777 E. Outer Dr., Detroit ( in the basement) ( see meeting dates
This Sub-Committee shall support the member groups of the Committee by helping resolve situations or needs a group has not been able to handle on its own, provide panels and workshops to increase understanding of the Twelve Traditions and the N.A. service structure.

This subcommittee maintains a telephone information service for Narcotics Anonymous that helps addicts and others in the community find us easily and quickly.
Meets every 3rd Sunday @ 5:45pm-6:25pm, St. John Hospital, 22101 Moross, Detroit
This Sub-Committee shall review any possible policy changes; seek guidance in a better understanding of our Traditions and report back to the Committee and follow the suggestions in World service Conference Committee Handbooks as appropriate for its needs.
3rd Thursday @ 10:00am, “Life Goes On” Group, 1491 Baldwin, St. Paul Church, Detroit (in basement)
This committee was created to plan, schedule and set the program for the East Area’s Women’s Day. Women’s Day shall be every third weekend of October.
